First of all, a bit of background. Luca Schmidt is the 13 year old daughter of Nandi Schmidt (Director of the BURY CANCER SOCIETY).   Luca has been involved with the fundraising and support of all the efforts on behalf of Steve Lord and the Bury Cancer Society.  As a result she has come to know Steve and his family,  in fact she is described by Steve's Mom Becky as one of Steve's Special Angels.  Nandi spoke to Luca one day and said "writing about him (Steve) would make her feel better."  Luca submitted the following for a school English assignment.                                 Steve Lord Staying strong was the key this man once told me, Terribly in pain on the inside, while showing strength on the outside, Everday he fought, up until the end, Very fast and peacefully he died.
